Frequently Asked Questions
1. What types of evaluations do you provide?
We conduct comprehensive psycho-educational evaluations to assess for learning disabilities such as Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, and Dyscalculia, as well as ADHD and early-onset Dementia. We also provide bilingual evaluations in English and Spanish, educational consultations, and advocacy services to support families through the special education process.
2. How is your evaluation different from a school evaluation?
Our evaluations use the same standardized, research-based assessments that schools use, but they are more detailed and timely. Unlike school evaluations, we also consider medical, emotional, and environmental factors, and provide clear recommendations that can be used both at home and in school. We also help families navigate the ARD/IEP or 504 process to ensure the evaluation is accepted and implemented.
3. Do schools accept your evaluations?
Yes. Under IDEA and Texas law, public schools must consider outside evaluations, including those conducted by PearlTX-ECDA, as part of determining eligibility for special education or 504 services. It is important to note that while schools may choose to conduct additional testing, our reports are designed in the same format as district evaluations, making them easier for schools to integrate.
4. How much do your services cost?
Full comprehensive evaluation: $1,400
ADHD-only or Dementia-only evaluation: $800
Dyslexia & ADHD screeners: $100 (credited toward a full evaluation if requested later)
Educational consultation & advocacy: $75/hour
College student evaluations: starting at $1,095
We also offer family discounts for multiple children being assessed.
5. How do I get started?
You can start by completing our online intake form or calling us directly. After reviewing your information, we will schedule an appointment, explain what assessments will be conducted, and provide a clear timeline. Most evaluations are completed within 2–3 weeks, with a detailed written report and a follow-up consultation included.
