Evaluations are conducted by a qualified examiner who is not employed by the school district. It provides an objective, in-depth look at an individual’ learning, attention, and processing needs to inform eligibility for services such as College Accommodations, Section 504/Special Education services, SSI benefits and more.
Families often seek an IEE or Private Evaluation when they want a second opinion or disagree with a school’s evaluation or their children are homeschooled or in private school where educational evaluations are not always offered or accessible.
College students often seek a Private Evaluation to continue to receive accommodations in the college setting or due to suspicion of a disability.
Adults often seek an evaluation for suspicion of a disability so that they can get work accommodations and/or access to different treatment options.
